FC Energie Cottbus is a German football club from Cottbus in Brandenburg, founded in 1963 in what was then East Germany. It plays at the LEAG Energie Stadion, a ground of about 22,500 places, and competes in the 3. Liga. The club spent six seasons in the Bundesliga between 2000 and 2009, the last East German side to establish itself there, and won the FDGB-Pokal in 1997. It plays in red and white and is nicknamed Die Lausitzer, after the Lusatia region, whose Sorbian minority the club also serves.
