Gamba Osaka is a Japanese football club from Suita in Osaka Prefecture, founded in 1980 as the works team of Matsushita Electric and a founder member of the J.League in 1993. It plays at Panasonic Stadium Suita, a ground of 39,694 places, and competes in the J1 League. Gamba won the AFC Champions League in 2008 and the J1 title twice. It plays in blue and black. Gamba means leg in Italian and also echoes the Japanese word for perseverance.
