UPS, formally United Parcel Service, is an American parcel delivery and logistics company with its head office in Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded in Seattle in 1907 as a messenger service and grew into one of the largest package carriers in the world, its brown vans and uniforms earning it the nickname Big Brown. The company also handles freight forwarding and contract logistics.
