CD Nacional is a Portuguese football club from Funchal on Madeira, founded on 8 December 1910. It plays at the Estádio da Madeira in Choupana, a ground of about 5,200 places on a hillside above the city, and competes in the Portuguese league. The club has spent much of the past two decades in the Primeira Liga and reached the Europa League on several occasions. It plays in black and white and is nicknamed Os Alvinegros. Cristiano Ronaldo played in its youth ranks before moving to Sporting.
