NK Maribor is a Slovenian football club from Maribor, founded on 12 December 1960. It plays at the Ljudski vrt, a ground of 11,709 places, and competes in the PrvaLiga. Maribor is the most successful club in Slovenia, with more than fifteen national championships and nine cup wins, and it has reached the group stage of both the Champions League and the Europa League. It plays in purple and is nicknamed Vijoličasti, the Purples. Its rivalry with Olimpija Ljubljana is the Eternal Derby.
