Leixões SC is a Portuguese sports club from Matosinhos near Porto, founded on 28 November 1907, with sections for several sports. Its football team plays at the Estádio do Mar, a ground of about 6,000 places, and competes in the Portuguese league. The club won the Taça de Portugal in 1961. It plays in red and white and is nicknamed Os Bebés, the Babies. Matosinhos is the fishing and container port of the Porto area, which the club's other nickname, Heroes of the Sea, points to.
