Petrolul Ploiești is a Romanian football club from Ploiești in Prahova County, whose lineage goes back to a club founded in 1924 and which took its present name when it moved to the oil city in 1952. It plays at the Stadionul Ilie Oană, a ground of 15,073 places, and competes in Liga I. The club has won four Romanian championships and three cups. It plays in yellow and blue and is nicknamed Lupii Galbeni, the Yellow Wolves. Ploiești is the centre of the Romanian oil industry, which the club is named after.
