Burnley Football Club is an English club from Burnley in Lancashire, founded on 18 May 1882 and one of the twelve founder members of the Football League. It plays at Turf Moor, a ground of 21,944 places and its home since 1883, and competes in the Championship after relegation from the Premier League. Burnley have won the league twice, in 1921 and 1960, and the FA Cup in 1914. The club plays in claret and blue, colours it adopted in honour of Aston Villa, and is nicknamed the Clarets.
