Shimizu S-Pulse is a Japanese football club from the Shimizu ward of Shizuoka, founded in 1991 and a founder member of the J.League in 1993. It plays at IAI Stadium Nihondaira, a ground of 19,594 places, and competes in the J1 League. The club won the Emperor's Cup in 2001 and the Asian Cup Winners' Cup in 2000. It plays in orange. Shimizu is regarded as the cradle of Japanese football, with the game rooted in its schools since the 1950s.
