Southampton Football Club is an English club from Southampton in Hampshire, founded on 21 November 1885 as a church side. It plays at St Mary's Stadium, a ground of 32,384 places, and competes in the Championship. The club won the FA Cup in 1976 and has spent long spells in the top flight. It plays in red and white stripes and is nicknamed the Saints. Its academy produced Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Alan Shearer, and is one of the most productive in England.
