Stade Brestois 29 is a French football club from Brest in Brittany, formed in 1950 out of a merger of five local clubs, the oldest of which dates from 1903. It plays at the Stade Francis-Le Blé, a ground of 15,220 places in the middle of the city, and competes in Ligue 1, which it reached in 2019. A third place in the 2023/24 season took the club into the Champions League for the first time in its history. Its red and white colours and its nicknames, Les Pirates and Les Ty' Zefs, point at the character of the port city. Alongside the professional squad it runs a youth academy and a women's section.
