Excelsior Rotterdam is a Dutch football club from the Kralingen district of Rotterdam, founded on 23 July 1902. It plays at Stadion Woudestein, a ground of 4,500 places and the smallest in Dutch professional football, and competes in the Eredivisie. The club is the third of Rotterdam behind Feyenoord and Sparta, and has moved between the two national divisions for decades. It plays in red and black and is nicknamed De Kralingers. Its size makes every promotion an unusually visible achievement.
