K Beerschot VA is a Belgian football club from Antwerp, carrying on a name that goes back to 1899 through several mergers and refoundings. It plays at the Olympisch Stadion, a ground of 12,771 places built for the 1920 Games, and competes in the Belgian league. The Beerschot sides of the past won seven Belgian championships. It plays in purple and white and is nicknamed De Ratten, the Rats. Its rivalry with Royal Antwerp is the Antwerp derby.
