Newcastle Jets FC is an Australian football club from Newcastle, New South Wales, founded in 2000 as one of the original A-League clubs. It plays at McDonald Jones Stadium, a ground of about 33,000 places, and competes in the A-League Men. The club won the championship in 2008. It plays in blue and gold. Newcastle is a coal port north of Sydney with a long football tradition in its mining suburbs.
