Ascoli Calcio 1898 is an Italian football club from Ascoli Piceno in the Marche, founded in 1898. It plays at the Stadio Cino e Lillo Del Duca, a ground of 12,461 places, and competes in the lower professional divisions. The club spent sixteen seasons in Serie A between 1974 and 1990 under the ownership of Costantino Rozzi. It plays in white and black and is nicknamed Il Picchio, the woodpecker, after the bird in the city's arms.
