FC Augsburg, in full Fußball-Club Augsburg 1907, is a German football club from Augsburg in Bavaria, founded on 8 August 1907. It plays at the WWK Arena, a ground of 30,660 places, and competes in the Bundesliga, which it reached for the first time in 2011 after more than a century in the lower divisions. The club has stayed in the top flight ever since, and played in the Europa League in 2015. It plays in red, green and white and is nicknamed the Fuggerstädter, after the Fugger merchant family that shaped the city.
