Avispa Fukuoka is a Japanese football club from the Hakata ward of Fukuoka, founded in 1982 as a company team in Shizuoka and moved to Fukuoka in 1995. It plays at Best Denki Stadium, a ground of about 22,500 places, and competes in the J1 League. The club won the J.League Cup in 2023, its first major trophy. It plays in navy blue. Avispa is Spanish for wasp, chosen for the insect's teamwork and its sting.
