FC Basel 1893 is a Swiss football club from Basel, founded on 15 November 1893. It plays at St. Jakob-Park, the largest stadium in Switzerland with 38,512 places, and competes in the Super League. Basel has won the Swiss championship more than twenty times, including a run of eight in a row from 2010, and the Swiss Cup thirteen times, and it has been a regular in the Champions League group stage. It plays in red and blue and is nicknamed RotBlau or the Bebbi, after a local word for a citizen of Basel.
