The Charleston Battery are an American soccer club from Charleston, South Carolina, founded in 1993 and the oldest continuously operating professional club in the country. They play at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, a ground of about 5,000 places, and compete in the USL Championship, the second division. The Battery won the league title in 2003 and 2012 and knocked several MLS sides out of the US Open Cup. They play in black and yellow, and the name refers to the seafront promenade in the old city.
