FC Penafiel is a Portuguese football club from Penafiel in the Porto district, founded on 8 February 1951. It plays at the Estádio Municipal 25 de Abril, a ground of about 5,200 places, and competes in Liga Portugal 2, the second tier. The club has had several short spells in the Primeira Liga, the last of them in 2015. It plays in red and black and is nicknamed Os Rubro-Negros. It is one of the steadier clubs of the densely populated Tâmega valley east of Porto.
