Sporting CP is a Portuguese club from Lisbon, founded on 1 July 1906, with departments for many sports. Its football team plays at the Estádio José Alvalade, a ground of 52,707 places, and competes in the Primeira Liga. Sporting have won the Portuguese championship more than twenty times and the Cup Winners' Cup in 1964. It plays in green and white hoops and is nicknamed Os Leões, the Lions. Its academy produced Luís Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo.
