GKS Katowice is a Polish football club from Katowice in Upper Silesia, founded on 27 February 1964. It plays at the Arena Katowice, a ground of 15,048 places opened in 2024, and competes in the Ekstraklasa. The club won the Polish Cup four times and reached the Cup Winners' Cup quarter-finals in 1994. It plays in yellow and green. Katowice is the centre of the Silesian coal region, and the club is one of several with mining roots in the area.
