RB Leipzig, formally RasenBallsport Leipzig, is a German football club from Leipzig in Saxony, founded on 19 May 2009 when Red Bull bought the playing rights of a fifth-division club. It plays at the Red Bull Arena, a ground of about 47,800 places, and competes in the Bundesliga. The club rose through five divisions in seven years and has won the DFB-Pokal twice. It plays in red and white. Its rapid, corporate rise makes it the most divisive club in German football.
