FC Tokyo is a Japanese football club from Chōfu in western Tokyo, founded in 1935 as the works team of Tokyo Gas and professional under its present name since 1999. It plays at the Ajinomoto Stadium, a ground of 49,970 places, and competes in the J1 League. The club won the J.League Cup in 2004, 2009 and 2020 and the Emperor's Cup in 2011. It plays in blue and red. It is one of the few clubs in Japan to carry no company or nickname in its name, only the city.
