Manchester United Football Club is an English club from Old Trafford in Greater Manchester, founded in 1878 as Newton Heath and renamed in 1902. It plays at Old Trafford, a ground of about 74,500 places, and competes in the Premier League. United have won the English league a record twenty times, the FA Cup thirteen times and the European Cup three times. It plays in red and is nicknamed the Red Devils. The Munich air disaster of 1958 killed eight of its players.
