UD Las Palmas is a Spanish football club from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands, founded on 22 August 1949 out of a merger of five local clubs. It plays at the Estadio de Gran Canaria, a ground of 32,400 places, and competes in the Spanish league. The club finished runner-up in La Liga in 1969 and reached the Copa del Rey final twice. It plays in yellow and blue and is nicknamed Los Amarillos.
