Amarante FC, in full Amarante Futebol Clube, is a Portuguese football club from Amarante in the Porto district, founded on 4 March 1923. It plays at the Estádio Municipal de Amarante, a ground of about 5,000 places, and competes in Liga 3, the third tier of Portuguese football, after promotion. The club has spent most of its history in regional and lower national divisions and has won four district championships. It plays in black and white. Its best national runs have come in the Taça de Portugal, where it has knocked out top-flight opposition.
