AJ Auxerre, in full Association de la Jeunesse Auxerroise, is a French football club from Auxerre in Burgundy, founded on 29 December 1905. It plays at the Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps on the bank of the Yonne, a ground of about 18,500 places, and competes in Ligue 1. Under Guy Roux, who managed the club for more than forty years, Auxerre won the league and cup double in 1996 and the Coupe de France four times, an extraordinary record for a town of forty thousand. It plays in white and blue and is nicknamed Les Ajaïstes.
