CD Leganés is a Spanish football club from Leganés in the Madrid region, founded on 23 June 1928. It plays at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque, a ground of about 12,500 places, and competes in the Spanish league. The club reached La Liga for the first time in 2016 and returned in 2024, and it knocked Real Madrid out of the Copa del Rey in 2018. It plays in blue and white and is nicknamed Los Pepineros, the cucumber growers, after the crop the town was known for.
