Cagliari Calcio is an Italian football club from Cagliari in Sardinia, founded in 1920. It plays at the Unipol Domus, a ground of about 16,400 places, and competes in Serie A. The club won the Italian championship in 1970 with a side built around Gigi Riva, the only scudetto ever taken by a club from the islands, and Riva remains Italy's record international goalscorer. It plays in red and blue and is nicknamed Gli Isolani, the Islanders, or Casteddu, the Sardinian name for the city.
