Genoa CFC is an Italian football club from Genoa in Liguria, founded in 1893 as a cricket and athletic club by British residents and the oldest football club in Italy still playing. It plays at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, a ground of 33,205 places, and competes in Serie A. Genoa won nine Italian championships, all before 1924, more than any club except Juventus, Inter and Milan. It plays in red and blue and is nicknamed Il Grifone, the Griffin.
