Getafe CF is a Spanish football club from Getafe in the Madrid region, founded on 8 July 1983. It plays at the Coliseum, a ground of about 16,500 places, and competes in La Liga. The club reached the Copa del Rey final twice and the UEFA Cup quarter-finals in 2008, when it lost to Bayern in extra time. It plays in blue and is nicknamed Azulones. It is one of several clubs in the capital's southern suburbs, all in the shadow of the two big Madrid sides.
