Hamburger SV is a German football club from Hamburg, whose oldest predecessor dates from 1887 and which took its present form in 1919. It plays at the Volksparkstadion, a ground of about 57,000 places, and competes in the Bundesliga. HSV won six German championships, the European Cup in 1983 and the Cup Winners' Cup in 1977. It plays in blue, white and black and is nicknamed Die Rothosen, the red shorts. It was the only club to play every Bundesliga season until it was relegated in 2018.
