IK Start is a Norwegian football club from Kristiansand in the far south, founded on 19 September 1905. It plays at the Sparebanken Norge Arena, a ground of 14,563 places, and competes in the Norwegian league. The club won the Norwegian championship in 1978 and 1980, the only titles ever taken by a side from the south coast. It plays in yellow and black. Its academy has supplied a long line of players to the national team.
