FC Nantes is a French football club from Nantes in the Pays de la Loire, founded on 21 April 1943. It plays at the Stade de la Beaujoire, a ground of 35,322 places, and competes in Ligue 1. Nantes have won the French championship eight times and the Coupe de France four times, most recently in 2022. It plays in yellow and green and is nicknamed Les Canaris, the Canaries. The club's passing style in the 1960s and 1970s became known as jeu à la nantaise and shaped a generation of French football.
