CD Tenerife is a Spanish football club from Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the Canary Islands, founded on 8 August 1922. It plays at the Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López, a ground of 22,824 places, and competes in the Spanish league. The club spent nine seasons in La Liga in the 1990s and reached the UEFA Cup semi-finals in 1997. It plays in white and blue and is nicknamed Los Blanquiazules. Its meetings with Las Palmas are the derby of the Canary Islands.
