VfL Bochum is a German football club from Bochum in the Ruhr, whose parent sports club dates from 26 July 1848, making it one of the oldest in the country. It plays at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion, a ground of 27,599 places, and competes in the German league. The club has never won a major trophy and reached two DFB-Pokal finals, but it has spent more than thirty seasons in the Bundesliga. It plays in blue and white.
