Hellas Verona FC is an Italian football club from Verona in the Veneto, founded in 1903 by students who chose a Greek name for it. It plays at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi, a ground of about 39,200 places, and competes in Serie A. The club won the Italian championship in 1985, one of the great surprises in the history of the league, with a side coached by Osvaldo Bagnoli. It plays in yellow and blue and is nicknamed Gli Scaligeri, after the family that ruled the city in the Middle Ages.
